Posting to Telegram with PostOnly
PostOnly posts to Telegram through a bot you create, so you control the name, the avatar and which channels it can reach. Messages run to 4,096 characters, and longer posts are split into a sequence of messages.
How to connect Telegram
- Message @BotFather in Telegram and send
/newbot. It replies with a bot token. - Add the bot to your channel as an admin that can post.
- In PostOnly choose Add Account → Telegram.
- Paste the bot token and enter the channel: the
@usernamefor public channels, or the numeric ID for private channels and groups. - Save.
Good to know
- The bot token is stored in your Keychain.
- The bot must be an admin that can post, or sends are refused.
